State funding has been approved for the production of the animated film “New Year’s Eve.”

KINOMANIAK proudly announces that its first project — the short animated film “New Year’s Eve” — has been selected by the National Cinema Center of Armenia (nowadays the Cinema Foundation of of Armenia) of Minystry of Education, Sience, Culture and Sorts to receive state production funding.

The screenplay was written by Sergey Kapkov, Editor-in-Chief at Soyuzmultfilm (Russia) studio. The film is directed by Veronika Fedorova, known for her work on Little Forest Tales, and produced by Sergey Ovsepyan (Squared Zebra).

“New Year’s Eve” is based on an Armenian fairy tale from Tales of Our Alen by Alen Margaryan, a Hero of Artsakh. The project aims to preserve national cultural heritage and pass on Armenia’s unique legends to new generations.

The film’s release is scheduled for 2026.
